Désirée Schroeder on Creativity

We had a great meeting!

Summary of the meeting

Our speaker, Désirée (Anderson) Schroeder

Désirée began by showing us how she uses pictures to inspire her writing. She also plays music in the background that goes with the mood of her work.

She shared about pitfalls and how to improve our craft as well as developing characters in fiction writing. Find out more by clicking on her notes:

She asked us to jot down three memories about winter. These will be great thoughts to jump start our writing.

We were given writing prompts and got to work!

We were assigned to write:   “Until _____, nothing notable had happened in the town of Madison since the year of its founding.”  Wow! what creativity was stirred up.  It was wonderful hearing what each person had written.

Shannon used a true event in her life as inspiration, when we were given the prompt to write on “Seven days ago_______. Now nobody will talk to me.”

We have such gifted people among us and interesting stories were conjured up!

Thank you, Désirée, for teaching us, stirring up our creativity, and making us smile.
